Hurricane Season Is Here. Is Your Vehicle Ready?

Hurricane season has arrived. And while El Niño conditions are expected to make for a milder-than-average 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, storms are still forecast to form. At Loyalty Collision, we want you to stay safe on the road and know that we’re here if your car needs attention before, during or after a storm.

Here’s a quick guide to help you prepare:

Before the Storm

Preparation can make all the difference.

Fuel Up & Check Essentials: Make sure your gas tank is full, tires are properly inflated and windshield wipers are in good condition. If you choose to store extra fuel, use an approved container, keep it tightly sealed and store it away from heat sources. If transporting fuel, place the container in your trunk.

Headlight Safety: Clear, bright headlights are critical in heavy rain. Consider our Headlight Restoration service for maximum visibility.

Protect Your Vehicle: Park away from low-lying areas or flood zones and, if possible, inside a garage to minimize damage from flying debris.

At Loyalty Collision, our computer-cut window films provide a precise fit with a variety of options to help you achieve the look and protection you want.

During the Storm

Don’t Forget Under the Hood

The safest option is to avoid driving altogether, but if you must be on the road:

  • Stay Off Flooded Roads: Never attempt to drive through standing water — it’s impossible to judge the depth.
  • Drive Cautiously: High winds, heavy rain and debris can create sudden hazards.
  • If Trouble Strikes: If you’re involved in an accident or your car is disabled, call Loyalty for 24/7 towing assistance.

After the Storm

The danger doesn’t always end when the rain stops. Roads may still be flooded or blocked, and your vehicle could have damage that isn’t immediately obvious.

    • Inspect Your Vehicle: Look for dents, broken glass or other storm-related damage. Our team can help with auto glass repair, dent removal and more.
    • Stay Alert: Watch out for downed power lines and debris until cleanup crews have cleared the roads.
  • Get Damage Assessed: If your car is repairable, we’ll restore it to pre-storm condition. If it’s totaled, we can refer you to one of our dealerships to get a new or pre-owned vehicle with 1 year of free Accident Protection coverage.

At Loyalty Collision, we’re here to help you weather the storm. Whether it’s restoring visibility, repairing glass, fixing dents or providing towing, you can count on us for safe, reliable service.
