‘Tis the Season for Wintry Conditions. Be Careful Out There!

EXTREME COLD. SNOW. FREEZING RAIN. IT’S COMING!

In this part of Virginia, snowy, icy driving conditions aren’t something we have to deal with very often. But that can make driving in snow, ice and freezing rain even trickier – we’re not used to it! Here are some tips to keep in mind the next time you find yourself driving in a winter wonderland:

• ❄️ Give yourself more time to get places – then slow down to a speed you’re comfortable with.

• ❄️ Go easy when speeding up and slowing down. Otherwise you could lose traction if you hit an icy patch.

• ❄️ Don’t use cruise control. It’s better to be in full control and paying full attention when you’re not sure about the conditions.

• ❄️ Always wear a seatbelt! Then if there is an accident, you and your passengers are much less likely to be seriously injured.
